Antidote
at ONE BIG CROWD, a one night tribute to A7
December 6, 2008; The Knitting Factory; NYC

I had heard of Antidote before, knowing little more about them than that Arthur Googy, former drummer of the Misfits, had once been a member of the band. Googy wasn't with them this time. I'd have been excited to see Googy play (If anyone knows where he is and can put me in contact, I'd like to do a portrait of him) but Antidote provided plenty of excitement regardless. No other band that played the main stage (at least none that I saw...I missed those who I didn't include photos of in these galleries) got the audience into as much of a frenzy as Antidote did. There was a ton of stagediving, slamming and moshing and the songs were delivered fast and hard. I opted to get out of the pit and to photograph from the stage and the balcony halfway through their set because it was hard to photograph while dodging all those stage divers and, in all seriousness, I was getting crushed against the stage hard enough that I thought I'd be risking a broken back if I stayed where I was. They played a damn good set and I'd go see them again.
