THE BEACHCOMBOVERS
with Thomas White of Unnatural Axe
August 21, 2008; The Church; Boston, Massachusetts

The Beachcombovers debut! (L-R) Bruce, John and Tommy White create big waves and make a big splash at The Church.
Starting on August 21st and ending on the 23rd of 2008, the gentlemen of Boston's best punk band of all time, Unnatural Axe, celebrated the band's 30th anniversary (a year late...they formed in '77) with three nights of Unnatural Axe and Axe-related shows. One highpoint of the three nights came early with the debut of The Beachcombers, the new surf band put together by Tom White (AKA Tom White Trash), guitarist of the Unnatural Axe. His trio played great surf music and many of Mr. White's fans from his work with the Axe were amazed by his lava-lamp-like fluidity in an entirely different genre. He plays surf guitar like the best of them.

Everytime Bruce hits a bass string, there's a tsunami somewhere. That's a lot of tsunamis!

John, creating massive surf beats.

For the next show, they'll be replacing their amplifiers with giant seashells.

Tom White, bowling shirt, bitchin' surf guitar, and white shoes. What more could you want? A second show soon. That's all.
