The "HANGED" exhibition at The Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge, MA

Hanging from July 18 - August 1, 2005, HANGED was the sister exhibition of the longer-running (and still showing) exhibit called HUNG at Club Passim, also in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Featuring the work of rock 'n' roll artists, HANGED included pieces by Cynthia Plaster Caster, Jayne County, David Fair, John Holmstrom, Godlis, Winston Smith, John Gonquin Nikolai (the shows' curator), Knox, Niagara, Mark Mothersbaugh, Josie Montserrat, Jad Fair, Jon Strymish, Arturo Vega and Bunni.

Fine art at its absolute finest. Josie Montserrat's photo of a contortionist who appeared at the 2005 Joey Ramone birthday bash. This photo made a guest appearance at the opening reception for HUNG.		Three by John Nikolai - Joe Strummer, Terry Chimes, and "The Fall of the Heart of Escher" photo of Aja.

Nikolai's "REVERSE RACISM" painting		Two from Arturo Vega's "Porn is the New Rock" series and four of his pieces featuring images of a collaboration between himself and Dee Dee Ramone on the swastika painting, some with Dee Dee's slogan "All I have is my hate power."

Five photos by Bunni...the skull, two of Boston-area supermodel Aja and two photos of walls.

Exhibiting photographer Josie Montserrat, who made the trip from Canada to be at the opening reception for HANGED, enters The Zeitgeist Gallery. Pieces in the window to the left include, from the top, one of John Nikolai's dogs of Havana photos, one of David Fair's cut-outs, and John Strymish's photo of Kogar from Thee Monkey Butlers giving the finger. In the bottom window is Strymish's photo of Willie Alexander.

The HANGED window display featuring Cynthia Plaster Caster's cast of Peaches' breasts, Nikolai's photo of David Byrne, Jad Fair's "Werewolves" paper cut-out, John Holmstrom's original unused version of artwork for the Iggy Pop PUNK magazine cover, Godlis' photo of Johnny Ramone and Arturo Vega's "Porno is the New Rock" baseball hats. In the background is the HANGED poster and, sadly, not visible in this shot, a hangman's noose.
