PAINTINGS / SCULPTURES / ASSEMBLAGES:

"EVERYTHING I LEARNED ABOUT TAXIDERMY (I LEARNED ABOUT TAXIDERMY)" - A 12" x 12" sculpture/painting on canvas by John Nikolai. Acrylic, wood, glass eye, feathers on canvas; 2006. This little bird appeared in the 2006 CBGB art exhibition "Sex, Death and Rock 'n' Bones" but was not for sale as it's a piece that Nikolai holds very near and dear to his heart. After all these years, it's time for the little bird to fly the coop...Ships to the USA only.

"A Symphony of Punches / A Rhapsody In The Kisser" is a huge (36" x 48"; weighing, I think, about 30 pounds) sculpture/assemblage on canvas which was lovingly constructed in tribute to Jerome "Curly" Howard, Larry Fine and Moe Howard, collectively known as the most famous incarnation of The 3 Stooges. Antique boxing gloves, prosthetic eyes, a sacrificial violin and repeated viewings of The 3 Stooges' hilarious second short film, "Punch Drunks," released in 1934 plus hundreds of hours of labor went into finishing the piece which massacred not only a violin but also a famous quote from George Bernard Shaw - "Hell is full of musical amateurs: music is the brandy of the damned." To see the piece in greater detail, click here to open up a much larger version. This piece is available for pick-up only from the artist's home in Providence, Rhode Island. Shipping it would be insanely expensive and while loading it into a van or large vehicle would not be difficult, packaging it would be a nightmare.

For 13 months, French Canadian hillbilly and serial abductor Robyn DeCradle imprisoned over one hundred unlucky ladies in his filthy kitchen refrigerator. At the same time, DeCradle kept photographer John Nikolai captive in his crawlspace, repeatedly cattle-prodding him into the kitchen and forcing him to take "purty pitchers" of his victims. The degradation that these unfortunate females endured is dragged out of the icebox and into the light in this chilling collection of photographic evidence. Covered in pasta, hit with pies, fed circus peanuts and tied, taped, and chained up inside the fridge, they were forced to be the frigid playthings of a depraved lunatic. Accompanying over 175 photos are snippets of text from DeCradle's abduction journals, offering insight into the unnatural lust, sinister urges and twisted brain of the most notorious serial abductor in French Canadian history.
